Caught Aboard the:
" Goin Off "
12/29/2002
Cleared the locks @ about 12:30 PM after deciding not to go at The 5:30 AM wakeup call. Early in the AM the wind was still blowing at the 20 mi buoy and I'm glad I waited. A friend of mine Loren Rapport call about 11:30 AM and we decided to run up to PC check out the mackerel and bluefish situation. When we got through the locks and to the port mouth about 2:00 PM there was no wind and we decided instead to head to 8A to check out some kingfish action. Action was hot from the time we got there till 5:15 PM, about as fast as we baited a hook we had another king hooked. Final tally was our limit of eight and a number of pulled hooks and Palm Beach releases. Pictures below speak for themselves. Only thing I didn't care for was having to run the Banana River back to Cocoa Beach in the dark with no moon. Most of the fish is headed for the smoker and we all had fresh fried kingfish for din-din tonight. |
