A day of relaxation and renewed friendship for

 Ron, Gary and Steve.

Today my fishing buddies were a long time friend Ron Alford who owns "Expert Investigations and Surveillance" here in Brevard county and his long time friends Gary Petrae and Steve Price for a day of relaxation and to put a few fish in the box for the table.

The day began with a somewhat frustrating search for pogies in the mouth of Port Canaveral capped off with a major malfunction when I threw the net on a large mark just outside the port which turned out to be croakers. The malfunction came with about 50 pounds or more of them of the 100 or so pounds that came up in the net gilled in the net. After what seemed like a lifetime of picking the little critters out of the net and releasing them we finally found pogies on the beach down near the steeple.

Ran out to Pelican flats and began slow trolling pogies and managed 3 kingfish to 18 pounds and then went to the Cities Service tanker wreck and caught two amberjack. Finished the day trolling for dolphin and only managed a few barracuda for our efforts cursed by the westerly winds. al in all fun was had for all and a fresh fish dinner to look forward to.

Final tally for the day:
2 Amberjack
3 Kingfish to 18#

Steve bowed up on a nice Kingfish.
(You can see the color in the water behind the boat.)
