A half day birthday fishing trip for mom Wendy
from her kids Allison, Chris, Andreu and Melissa

Today my fishing buddies were a really great family from Merritt Island. Mother Wendy had a birthday and her kids all got together to get her what she really wanted, a day of offshore fishing out of Port Canaveral. Allison contacted me about her mothers wishes and I am really glad we hooked up.
First order of business was a quick stop at the marina for a little fuel and a final pit stop of civilized facilities for the ladies. Then as usual, down the beach and everyone was soon doing the pogie pick up getting the live bait we'd need to take care of business for the day. After getting the bait we were off to 8A again since it has been so reliable lately. As it turned out it came through again today as we were able to get our 12 fish limit of Kingfish with the largest being a whopper 32 pounder caught by Chris. Mom got her wish many times over and also scored the highest number on the variety scale with Kings, Cobia and a Barracuda.
Everyone in the family caught more than one fish today and it was my honor to be their guide for the day. The weather again was absolutely beautiful with calm winds and smooth seas and the fish were very cooperative all day. Man I love my job and love it when a plan comes together.
BTW, word has it that there was a major fish fry somewhere on Merritt Island.

Final tally for the day:
12 Kingfish limit with Chris with the largest weighing in at 32#
1 Barracuda for a quick picture and back in the H2O to fight again another day
1 Cobia too short to keep
A bunch of Atlantic Sharpnose Sharks released

It's a 32 pound Kingfish for Chris!

A Cobia for mom too bad it's an inch too short!

Allison get a nice sized King

Andreu and Wendy with a Brace of nice sized Kings!

Mom Wendy gets a Barracuda!

Today's happy family crew with a limit of Kings.
