The guys from England bend some rods on
Kings, Cobia, Flounder and Snapper

Today my fishing buddies were a great bunch of guys from across the Atlantic ocean from northernmost England. The crew consisted of Steven and Dominic Beverly, Alan and Jonny Pape with close friend Bart tagging along for a full days fishing in the beautiful Atlantic ocean.
Started the day with the pogie pick up ritual and since it was a full day trip and I almost always bottom fish way up north 8A reef was the first stop on our journey north. Action at 8A was not red hot but a steady pick of Kingfish to 30#, Barracuda, a keeper Cobia, and more Atlantic Sharpnose sharks than I care to de-hook. After catching half a limit of Kings and the Cobia we decided to run north and do a little bottom bumpin to add some variety to the menu.
While in route to the bottom spot we stopped long enough for a herd of Atlantic Bottle nosed Dolphin to ride the bow wave for a few pictures and a few miles later I wheeled the boat around to check out a huge school of Cow Nosed Rays. We also made a stop at the Hetzel Shoals buoy where ther were a bunch of large Barracuda stacked like cord wood and a huge school of bait but no Cobes.
We finished our day up north in pursuit of bottom fish and our efforts proved to be very successful when we added seven keeper Red Snapper and a doormat flounder to our fish box.
We rode back from the spot up north of the shuttle pads at 32 knots on a glassy slick ocean and clear skies. Another great day aboard the Goin Off and a great bunch of guys from across the pond.

Final tally for the day:
6 Kingfish limit with the largest weighing around 30#
1 Cobia
7 Keeper Red Snapper with 8 others released to grow up
1 Flounder
A bunch of short Sea Bass released
A bunch of Atlantic Sharpnose Sharks released
