David, Brent and Everette from Tennesssee
whack the Cobia, Snapper and Kings.

Today my fishing buddies were Brent who is in the Air Force stationed at Patrick Air Force base and David and Everette vacationing from Tennessee. The mission today was to bend a few rods for the guys from Tennessee and put together some fish for them to take back home with them.
Business as usual was to run down the beach and get a live well full of pogies and one toss of the net a little south of the steeple and we were on our way. We started at 8A reef for a little slow trolling and the bite was on. We fished 8A for about 4 hours and were busy from the get go catching kings to thirty pounds, a pair of Cobia and more sharks than we wanted. After getting our eight fish limit of nice sized kings and the pair of Cobia I decided to take a break and hit a spot up north that I haven't hit since March and as I suspected letting it rest paid off with five keeper Red Snapper and a few others released along with one more keeper Cobia and one more released to grow up.
We started our ride back around 2:30 PM a little early to allow for another hour of fish cleaning time back at the dock. The ride back was again on a totally flat ocean. Back at the dock Everette hung with me to help bag the fish in zip-lock bags while Brent and David ran over to Wal-Mart to buy a bigger cooler and a FoodSaver vacuum packing machine to bag up the fish for David and Everette to take the fish home.
For the "dog days" of summer today was an exceptional day for fishing and I was glad to have the blessing of sharing the day with such a great bunch of guys. I really love it when a plan comes together!

Final tally for the day:
8 Kingfish including one @ 30#, one @ 25#, 2 @ 20#
5 keeper Red Snapper with others released to grow up
4 Cobia 3 keepers with one released to grow up
