Stephen, Tim and Ron for a full day on the briny blue.

Today my fishing buddies were old  friend Ron Alford and his friend Stephen Price who fished with me last year about this time and they brought their buddy Tim Moellenbrink along this year to spend the day with them.
We picked up a live well pogies near the Cocoa Beach pier and decided today to change things up and head out to Pelican flats to get started. The weather in the morning was beautiful and calm the Kingfish bite was red hot and we caught our limit of kings in just over an hour. The next order of business was to catch an Amberjack and we got to the Cities Service and although they AJ's we marking on the recorder well they had lockjaw and we were only able to bag one for the table.
Finally, we got down to the business of trolling and worked hard at it and were finally rewarded with four gaffers for our efforts the largest of which topped out at 30 pounds for Ron.
Didn't get wet today from the afternoon thunderstorms until I was back at the house standing at the cleaning table. Another great day with good friends, calm seas and a decent catch of fish.

Final tally for the day:
7 Kingfish kept for the table
4 Mahi-Mahi to 30 pounds
1 Amberjack
2 or 3 Remora released to fight another day

Ron gets a 30 pound Mahi.

Tims first AJ.

Steve and Tim just lovin' life on the water.

Tim's first Mahi.

Two thumbs up for Tim.

Today's crew with mission accomplished.
