A full day of fishing fun for
Brian Hogate, Mike Cunningham and sons.

Today my fishing buddies were Brian Hogate his sons Jacob and Jonah and Mike Cunningham and his son Hayden. They were originally booked to go offshore with me a few days ago but I was able to slip them into my schedule today instead since the weather  wasn't conducive to having a good time on the day they were originally booked.
Obtained the pogies on the beach today between the port ands the pier and everyone had a great time doing the "pogie pickup". Went back to the Lead wreck again to get things started and except for a barracuda and a remora the action really didn't work out so we moved over to the Damocles wreck. One cutoff there and the off the the Scallop King and Pelican flats. Nothing doing there either and I was beginning to sweat it. On a hunch that the wreck was holding fish but the bite was slow due to the full moon I returned to the Lead wreck and we  were able to finish the day with a fair amount of decent action. We lost a number of kings at the boat but managed to boat three of seven and a pair of Mahi to add to the menu.
Cruised back to the port at thirty knots with a happy crew, some fun memories, and a bunch of tasty fish for dinner.

Final tally for the day:
3 Kingfish.
2 small Mahi
2 Remora
3 Barracuda

A Barracuda for Brian.

Mike's bowed up while everyone cheers him on.

It's a Bonito for a picture and then a release.

Jonah gets a kick out of the Remora with its suction cup head.

Brian adds a kingfish to the guest list for dinner.

A big king for such a small guy,  Hayden caught it all by himself !
