The guys from Sweden first time deep sea fishing for a
half day catch Cobia, Kingfish, and hook a Sailfish

Today my fishing buddies were a group of fellows from Sweden vacationing in Orlando and taking a break from the ladies to go deep sea fishing for the first time out of Port Canaveral.
The first mission of the day was to do the usual search for pogies and we were able to procure them fairly easily of of the beach in Cocoa Beach. We then took off to 8A reef and began slow trolling the pogies. First fish on the hook was a Cobia which was caught by Goran Eriksson and unfortunately was too small to keep and was quickly released to grow up. Fishing was pretty slow and the weather was a little bumpy but in the end everyone caught at least one decent sized kingfish or bonito. The highlight of our day was a shot at a Sailfish that inhaled a slow trolled pogy and jumped at least seven or eight times before he was able to shake the hook.

Final tally for the day:
5 Kingfish kept for the table
1 Mahi-Mahi
1 Jack Crevalle released to grow up.
1 Cobia released to grow up.
1 Bonito released to grow up
2 or 3 Remora released

Torbjorn bowed up on his first deep sea fish, a Bonito.
