The Zimmerman family back again a year later
for some offshore fishing fun!

Today my fishing buddies were Brad and Faith Zimmerman and their eight year old son Hayden, a really nice family from the fine state of Missouri back again almost a year to the day for some offshore fun in the sun. I really love it when young families come back to visit with me because I get a chance to see the youngins as they grow up and become better buddies.
We started the day as usual getting a net full of pogies, this time right across the ship channel from Bluepoints marina, the Goin Off's new home. This year our fishing destination was 8A reef where we were able to follow up our half day trip last year with another fun day catching kingfish, bonito and remora.
It was really fun sharing the day with Hayden and his parents and I am hoping to have them back again next year as well. Hayden asked me this year if I would hire him as my mate and I told him I'd be glad to as soon as he finished his college education and could show mw his degree. Aboard the Goin Off I hold all my prospective employees to a high standard of academic excellence which is something Hayden will have no problem with at all.

Final tally for the day:
6 Kingfish limit to 15 pounds.
A bunch of pesky Remora.
2 Bonito released to fight again

Hayden bowed up and having fun!

Hayden catches this on all by himself!
