John and Tommy back again aboard the Goin Off

Today my fishing buddies were John and Tommy who fished with me this time last year and are back again for some repeat action. We made bait on the beach just south of the pier and with our live well full of pogies we were off to Pelican Flats. Upon arrival at Pelican Flats we deployed our spread and the kingfish bite was, well, non-existent. We did get a knockdown from a bull Mahi that put up a great fight jumping a number of times lasting about 25 minutes but with John behind the rod he was put in the fish box for safe keeping.
The rest of the day the bite was virtually non existent and to finish our day with some action I made the run to the Cities Service Tanker wreck to play with the Amberjack and we were finally able to find some fish to cooperate. John and Tommy each caught respectable AJ's and we were on our way back to Port Canaveral; in short order.

Final tally for the day:
2 Amberjack 30 and 55 pounds
1 Mahi-Mahi about 25 pounds

John bowed up fighting his 25 pound Mahi-Mahi.
