Ron, Tim, and Steve second of two full days offshore
catch Kingfish, Cobia and Mahi.

Today my fishing buddies were good friend Ron Alford, Tim Moellenbrink and his friend Stephen Price for the second of two full days of fishing aboard the Goin Off offshore Cocoa Beach.
Again we netted a full live well of pogies south of the Cocoa Beach pier and headed back out to 8A reef to pick up where we left off yesterday. The weather in the morning was windier than the day before with an easterly 4' sea running but today there was a lot more Sargasso weed and the prospect of Mahi looked markedly better. The Kingfish bite was much slower than yesterday and the kingfish we caught were a lot larger on average than yesterday. Because of the lumpy seas and the slow Mahi bite yesterday we decided to stick it out at 8A until after the shuttle launch.

Good thing we stuck it out because listening to the radio it sounded like fishing for everyone else was less than slow and we were fortunate to catch sizable kingfish, cobia and some nice gaffer Mahi, all at 8A reef.

Nice ride home with the following sea, good friends, and a full fish box.

Final tally for day two:
6 Kingfish between 12 and 34 pounds
3 Mahi-Mahi between 10 and 18 pounds
1 Cobia 25 pounds
1 Bonito released
